How to group property features within takeoffs?

Here’s how you create groups within takeoffs to categorize or sort property features. This allows for a more organized and logical grouping of features.

Creating a Group within a Takeoff

Step 1: Click on Edit Takeoff.

Step 2: Click on Create Group.

Step 3: Assign a meaningful name to the group. This example demonstrates sorting paving-related features. Select the relevant features such as drive range, driveway, pavement, and parking spot.

Step 4: After selecting all the relevant features, click on Save.

The newly created group appears in the group view, displaying all the paving features. Now, switching back to the default view shows all property features as they were before creating the group. Here, your takeoff remains intact, and the group view can be accessed to see the grouped paving features.

This method allows for the creation of a group within the takeoff. The grouped features can also be exported via a shareable link. On the shareable link, in the group view, the grouped features are visible. Here, the visibility of the paving features can be controlled by choosing to hide or show all measurements.

Creating a Group for All Takeoffs

If a group applicable to all takeoffs is needed, follow these steps:

Step 1: Click on Settings and go to Takeoff.

Step 2: Click on Groups.

Step 3: Click on the Group button. For this example, the next feature is softscapes. Choose the softscape features.

Step 2: Click on Groups.

Select the relevant features such as gravel bed, hedge, lawn, mulch bed.

Step 4:  Click on Save to create the group.

The group can be edited or deleted as needed.

This concludes the tutorial on creating groups within takeoffs.
